Hatherton Lodge is a rare example of a country estate where elegance, history, and immaculate presentation align. At its heart, a Georgian main house opens onto manicured lawns, ornamental gardens, and a glassy ornamental lake. Beyond, the estate unfolds to include a converted stable block, a coach house with garaging for seven cars, and extensive woodland, tennis courts, and outbuildings. Our aim was to capture this scale without losing the intimacy and texture of its finer details.

We began by framing the estate from above, using early morning drone sweeps to reveal the geometry of lawns, the mirrored surface of the water, and the stately proportions of the main façade. As the light softened, we moved inside, working with the natural fall of sunlight through the sash windows to accentuate the depth of the dining and drawing rooms. The orangery became a focal point for transitional shots, leading viewers visually from grand interiors to the sheltered terrace beyond.

In the Old Stables, now a charming guest residence, we shifted to a more tactile style. Close compositions on stone fireplaces, spiral staircases, and the patina of original brickwork gave the visuals a warmth that balanced the formal grandeur of the main house. The Coach House and surrounding gardens were photographed in layered sequences, allowing the viewer to appreciate the interplay between architectural form and landscape design.

Post-production was guided by the property’s own palette—soft greens from the gardens, warm neutrals from stone and timber, and the subtle blue-grey of the water. The final set of imagery and film is as much about atmosphere as it is about scale, crafted to position the agent’s brand at the highest tier of the market.
